I Invite You to Support the Co-Intelligence Work

Last night I sent out the summer fundraising email for the Co-Intelligence Institute, through which I do my work. I invite you to join in supporting that work. What follows is the letter I sent, which contains information about our work and how to contribute. Thanks for any support you choose to happily give.

Further Info on New BC Voting System Initiative

A number of people sent useful additional information on the scene in British Columbia regarding the vote on the electoral reforms recommended by the 2004 Citizen Assembly (see my 5/19 blog entry New Voting System in British Columbia Wins and Loses). Some of them have been posted as comments on that blog entry, but others were sent to me by email. Check the original blog entry comments for further points.

An interesting initiative arising from this is a t-shirt campaign which says "What part of 57.38% Yes do you not understand?"

Growing Together at the Emerging Edge of Evolution

I've just returned from a five-day Evolutionary Salon that I helped organize. It was a remarkable gathering of scientists, social thinkers, activists and artists seeking to better understand how to creatively engage with the evolutionary challenges of our times.

Evolution tends to accelerate in times of great change and challenge. We wanted to know how to consciously participate -- and help society consciously participate -- in that accelerating emergence of new forms of life and culture.

Here are some of the things we did, experienced and learned during these days of intense engagement and connection.

Brad Blanton's Campaign and the Transformation of Democracy

I just got another letter from Brad Blanton. This author of Radical Honesty is running for Congress in Virginia. In 2004 he got 24 percent of the vote with $4000 and some grassroots help. With two million dollars (including selling his home) he figures he can replace the incumbent Bush ally -- Rep. Eric Cantor -- with a different kind of politician. If years as a Radical Honesty workshop leader aren't enough to convince people he's for real, he's planning on wiring himself for sound so that everything he says and does is recorded 24/7 and broadcast on his website (with searchable transcripts soon after). A radically honest politician. Interesting idea. Perhaps its time has come. And Brad goes further...
